Metalcraft Engineering Company LtdFrom: Bryn Thompson - Managing Director Our staff is the company's greatest asset, which is why we are here today. From small beginnings in 1991, founders Bryn and Samantha Thompson took the plunge and purchased Metalcraft Engineering as sole traders. Since then the company has developed into an impressively successful light/heavy fabrication business with a sound reputation in the trade. Niche product development has allowed for constant customer interaction and with industry support, this has translated into four plastic, five rubber and sixteen aluminium private dies. These private dies are what Metalcraft believe set their products apart from competitors and with research and development always being undertaken by a team of in-house CAD product designers, Metalcraft is able to directly pass these benefits onto customers. Forming commercial collaborations has always featured in Metalcrafts planning process, with the belief that co-operation between like minded companies is more advantageous to success and progression than the attitude of protecting your own turf with aggressive defensiveness. In addition, expanding is a company goal that has seen the emergence of exporting light and heavy engineering products effectively meeting a growing niche market worldwide. As well as supplying 100% of New Zealand large, flat glass companies with glass handling and transportation systems and 80% of small to medium flat glass suppliers, the company also exports into Australia, the UK and now more recently, the North American market.
